The birth rate in the first half of the year was lower than expected at the national level. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This situation is causing serious concern among specialists in the fields of demography and family planning. According to official data, the number of newborns registered from January to June was approximately 405.5 thousand.
This figure indicates a decrease in the birth rate despite the rapid growth of the population. Of the newborns, 209.6 thousand were boys and 195.9 thousand were girls.
In urban areas, 197.8 thousand children were born, while in rural areas this figure reached 207.7 thousand. Compared to the same period last year, the number of births has decreased by 14.4 thousand.
Additionally, the number of deaths registered from the beginning of the year to June was 84.1 thousand. Of the deaths, 46.2 thousand were men and 37.9 thousand were women.
Compared to the same period last year, deaths have increased by 2.7 thousand. The demographic situation is showing a decrease in births and an increase in deaths as two opposing trends.
This may lead to a slowdown in the population growth rate. Furthermore, the delay in marriage and the establishment of new families among young people is affecting the decrease in new births.
They prefer to prioritize education, employment, and housing issues. This is causing significant changes in the demographic situation.
