With the initiative of the Uzbekistan embassy, online negotiations were held between Shavkat Sultonov, the head of Agro Gold Premium company in Kashkadarya region, and Lubna Salem, the CEO of EFC Plants Tissue Culture S.A.E. from Egypt, as reported by Zamin.uz.
The main goal of this meeting was to develop cooperation in the supply of potato seeds and create new opportunities in the agricultural sector.
During the negotiations, the Egyptian side discussed the issues of supplying quality seed potatoes to Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side announced that a specially protected land area had been prepared initially and that there are plans to increase the area of cultivated land later.
These measures will serve to further develop potato cultivation in the country. The Egyptian representatives expressed their readiness to increase the volume of supply and hoped to strengthen cooperation in the future.
At the end of the negotiations, it was agreed that 500,000 units of CARA variety potato seeds belonging to the G0 generation would be delivered free of charge to Uzbekistan by the end of July. These seeds will be planted in Kashkadarya this year, multiplied, and distributed among local farmers.
This cooperation will contribute to the implementation of new projects in potato cultivation in Uzbekistan and create new opportunities in agriculture. Additionally, this initiative will positively impact the efficiency of producing new products for farmers and the development of the local economy.
