New tasks and prospects have been set for expanding the export of food and fruit-vegetable products in our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During a video selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, special attention was paid to the reforms and innovations implemented in agriculture. Over the past three years, 250 thousand hectares of cotton and grain lands have been redirected to the cultivation of food products.
Additionally, 160 thousand hectares of new orchards and vineyards have been established, and 107 thousand hectares of old lands have been completely renewed. These measures serve to ensure food security and enhance export potential.
At the same time, 1.5 thousand new food industry projects worth 1 billion dollars have been implemented. Today, our country has created storage capacities for 100 thousand tons of products, 70 thousand tons for drying, and 46 thousand tons for sorting and packaging.
These infrastructures play a crucial role in increasing the competitiveness of our products. According to President Mirziyoyev, the consistent reforms in agriculture are also recognized by international organizations.
This month, our election to the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) creates broad opportunities for attracting international investments to new projects and developing national and regional initiatives. Work continues in our country to ensure food security, open new export markets, and improve product quality.
Expanding the geography of exports, implementing innovative solutions, and introducing modern agrotechnologies were raised as important topics at the meeting. New plans, practical measures, and promising projects were discussed.
New opportunities and jobs will be created to fully realize this potential. Innovations in the fruit-vegetable and food industries will not only develop our economy but also directly impact the well-being of our people (zamin.uz).
