
Effective negotiations were held in the city of Samarkand between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the King of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn al-Husayn. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the conclusion of the talks, a joint statement was adopted to strengthen partnership relations between the two countries. During this visit, a total of 15 bilateral documents were signed.
Among them are agreements on extradition, protection and promotion of investments, establishment of a joint commission, introduction of a visa-free regime, and cooperation in higher education and scientific research. Additionally, documents aimed at developing cooperation in tourism, agriculture, plant quarantine, and veterinary fields were approved.
Amendments were made to the intergovernmental agreement on air traffic. A memorandum on the online exchange of information regarding the movement of goods and vehicles was also signed.
Furthermore, memorandums were adopted in the fields of standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment. Interagency understandings on religious affairs were also strengthened.
During Abdullah II ibn al-Husayn’s state visit, a plan of practical measures was developed to implement the agreements reached. These documents serve to further expand cooperation between the two countries (source: zamin.uz).
