
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China from August 30 to September 3. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This visit is being made at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The press service of the Uzbek leader provided this information.
Mirziyoyev will participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the “SCO Plus” format summit held in Tianjin on August 31 and September 1. During these events, issues of expanding multilateral cooperation among the organization’s members and further improving SCO activities will be discussed.
At the conclusion of the events, the Tianjin Declaration is expected to be adopted. Additionally, joint documents and decisions aimed at strengthening partnerships in security, digital economy, green industry, energy, tourism, and other priority sectors are planned to be signed.
These documents will serve to develop strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and SCO countries. On September 2, President Mirziyoyev will hold bilateral talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing.
He will also meet with Chinese officials and heads of major companies to discuss opportunities for expanding practical cooperation and investment projects. On September 3, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in solemn ceremonies dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War.
According to China’s Xinhua news agency, 26 heads of state and government leaders will participate in this event. The first visitor to China is planned to be Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The next participant will be North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Also, the ceremonies will be attended by heads of state and government from Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Congo, Zimbabwe, Serbia, Slovakia, Cuba, and Myanmar.
This visit is of great importance for Uzbekistan not only to strengthen strategic partnership but also to expand diplomatic and investment opportunities at the regional and global levels. At the same time, President Mirziyoyev’s participation in the SCO summit and the parade in Beijing will contribute to further enhancing the country’s standing on the international stage (source: zamin.uz).
