According to the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan's border service, Uzbek border guards used weapons during the arrest of two Kyrgyz citizens, resulting in their deaths. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On August 25, law enforcement agencies received a report about two missing persons living in the Aygir-Jal village of the Chotqol district. This information was immediately recorded by the relevant authorities, and the situation was investigated.
Later, on August 28, during a meeting of representatives from the two countries' border services, the Uzbek side reported that on August 15, two unidentified individuals were detected in the area where the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan meet. Uzbek border guards attempted to stop them, but the individuals did not comply with the demands, which resulted in the use of weapons.
As a result of this incident, two people were killed by gunfire. On August 31, the relatives of the deceased came to Uzbekistan, identified the bodies, and they were handed over to Kyrgyzstan for examination.
Additionally, property belonging to the deceased — three horses and one tent — was also returned. The border services of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan plan to conduct joint investigation and analysis work regarding this tragic incident starting from September 2.
These measures are aimed at ensuring the border security of the two countries, clearly understanding the situation, and preventing such incidents in the future (source: zamin.uz).
