The Competition Committee has drawn attention to fake promotional campaigns circulating on the internet under the names of Korzinka and Coca-Cola. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These campaigns are phishing schemes, and citizens are advised not to provide personal information to unknown individuals and to verify information about the promotions only from official sources. According to the Competition Committee's press service, new fraud schemes under the names of well-known companies are increasing on the internet and social networks.
For example, false information is being spread about gifts being given to customers on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Anglesey Food company, owner of the Korzinka supermarket chain. A false advertisement claims that Cubes refrigerators can be purchased for 27,000 soums.
Additionally, fake information has circulated under the name of Coca-Cola Ichimligi Uzbekistan Ltd about branded mini refrigerators and 24 drinks being sold for only 30,000 soums. The promotion conditions required participants to follow a special link or complete a short survey.
The Competition Committee checked the official websites of the companies and found no official information about such promotions. Analysis showed that the procedure for receiving gifts offered to participants in these promotions fully corresponds to phishing schemes carried out under the names of popular brands.
Therefore, citizens are advised not to click on unknown links, not to provide personal information to strangers, and to verify information about promotions from official sources. This is important to ensure internet security and protect personal data (source: Competition Committee press service).
