
The air quality in Tashkent city is significantly deteriorating, and the city ranks fourth among the most polluted cities in the world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to O‘zgidromet data, on the morning of September 6, the concentration of PM2.5 particles in the atmosphere was approximately 1.3 times higher than the norm, reaching 44.6 micrograms per cubic meter. This indicator is considerably above the established standard.
Additionally, the carbon monoxide level reached 0.58 milligrams per cubic meter, indicating the severity of air pollution. In the ranking published by the international IQAir system at 10:00 AM, Tashkent took the fourth place among the most polluted cities worldwide.
The capital was assigned an index of 115, which may have a negative impact on vulnerable groups of the population. According to experts, the high pollution levels usually observed during the heating season are now also being recorded on hot summer days.
Therefore, residents of the capital are advised to constantly monitor air quality, consider outdoor air conditions, and use personal protective measures. Experts emphasize the importance of controlling harmful emissions from transport, industry, and heating systems, as this is a necessary measure to reduce air pollution.
