The “WHIS Award” for 2025 is presented to hydraulic structures that have been in use for over 100 years and have historical significance. This award is given by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage.
The “Do‘stlik” channel is located in the Syrdarya basin and is a large transboundary irrigation facility passing through the territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Thousands of hectares of land are irrigated through the channel, making a significant contribution to the development of agriculture.
The “Eski Tuyatortar” channel is a centuries-old historical hydraulic structure located on the Zarafshan River. It has served as a primary source for water distribution and agriculture for hundreds of years.
