New penalty introduced for wearing illegal uniforms
A new draft law amending the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Liability has been presented to the public. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This initiative is primarily aimed at preventing cases of illegally wearing uniforms belonging to ministries, agencies, and various organizations' employees. Clause “o” of the first part of Article 56 of the Criminal Code is being revised, and a new clause “p” is being added.

In the new wording, clause “o” refers to committing a crime under the influence of alcohol or narcotic substances, while clause “p” refers to committing a crime by a person who is not an official but uses the uniform or official documents of an authority representative. Additionally, a new Article 209-1 is introduced into the Code of Administrative Liability, which stipulates that if a person without any rights wears official, military, or special uniforms belonging to ministry or organization employees, the uniform will be confiscated and a fine ranging from two to five times the base calculation amount will be imposed.

Producing and using clothing similar in color, style, symbols, or distinguishing marks to military and departmental uniforms will also result in severe fines. In such cases, the clothing will be confiscated, and the fine may range from five to ten times the base calculation amount.

If this draft law is adopted, it will enhance the ability to eliminate abuses related to uniforms and ensure public safety (source: zamin.uz).
