
On October 6, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, made an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This visit was made at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. President Mirziyoyev was ceremoniously welcomed at Gabala International Airport by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Odil Karimli, the head of Gabala district administration Sabuhi Abdullayev, and other officials.
The main purpose of the visit is to participate in the Turkic States Organization summit. This summit will be held on October 7 in the city of Gabala under the theme “Regional Peace and Security.”
The event plans to discuss further development of strategic cooperation between various countries, expansion of economic ties, and joint projects in the fields of transport and energy. Additionally, new initiatives in education, culture, and information exchange will be proposed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a number of important documents strengthening cooperation within the Turkic States Organization are expected to be signed. According to analysts, the Gabala summit will mark the beginning of a new phase for the regional countries.
This forum will serve to further enhance economic, political, and cultural unity among Turkic countries. Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit once again confirms Uzbekistan’s active position in regional cooperation.
Within the framework of the visit, a bilateral meeting between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is also planned. They will discuss new prospects for relations and practical cooperation directions.
