
The National Statistics Committee has presented updated data on construction works carried out across the country from January to August 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this period, construction works worth a total of 188.5 trillion soums were completed, representing an 11.5 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. The largest expenditures in the construction sector correspond to the capital city, Tashkent.
In Tashkent, construction works worth 56.2 trillion soums were carried out, making the city the leader in construction activity nationwide. The value of construction works by region is distributed as follows.
In Tashkent region, construction works worth 21.4 trillion soums were completed; in Bukhara region, 12 trillion soums; in Samarkand and Fergana regions, each 11.5 trillion soums; and in Kashkadarya region, 10.7 trillion soums. In Surkhandarya region, 9.5 trillion; Namangan region, 8.8 trillion; Andijan region, 8.6 trillion; Navoi, 7.9 trillion; Khorezm, 7.8 trillion; Karakalpakstan, 6.4 trillion; and Jizzakh, 5.1 trillion soums worth of construction works were carried out.
The lowest figure was recorded in Sirdarya region, where the value of construction works amounts to 3.6 trillion soums. According to experts, growth in the construction sector confirms the activity of the country's economy.
Major infrastructure projects being implemented in Tashkent and large industrial centers have had the main impact on this growth. At the same time, despite the active continuation of construction works, problems in documentation and licensing have also been noted.
