President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Tajikistan on October 9-10. This visit is being made at the invitation of Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon.
During the trip, Mirziyoyev will participate in the "Central Asia – Russia" summit held in Dushanbe as well as the next meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council. The agenda of these events is comprehensive, discussing issues of further development of political, economic, and cultural cooperation among neighboring countries.
Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of joint projects in trade and economy, investment, transport, energy, and agriculture sectors. Additionally, strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as exchanging experience in scientific and educational fields, will be considered important topics.
The presidents will also exchange views on regional security and the international agenda. At the conclusion of the summit, a number of joint documents and decisions aimed at strengthening practical cooperation are expected to be signed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev last paid a working visit to the city of Khujand in Tajikistan on March 31 of this year. At that time, Emomali Rahmon personally welcomed the President at the airport, and this visit marked the beginning of a new stage in relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, it was announced that the Treaty on Alliance Relations had officially come into force. This document further strengthened political, economic, and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Additionally, trilateral historic negotiations took place with the participation of Mirziyoyev, Rahmon, and Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov. An agreement on the tripoint border of the three countries was signed, and the "Friendship Stele" was ceremoniously unveiled.
This event brought solidarity and mutual trust in the region to a new level. Emomali Rahmon assessed this agreement as an important event on the path to regional stability.
President Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the leaders of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on resolving contentious issues and further strengthening the bonds of friendship. Today, political dialogue is reaching a new level.
The summits in Dushanbe will define not only economic but also strategic cooperation directions for the future. Thus, Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s working visit to Tajikistan is of great importance from the perspective of further strengthening stability and the spirit of alliance in Central Asia.
