By a government decision, the “Regulation on the procedure for providing subsidies to partially cover the expenses of young people studying foreign languages at educational centers” was approved. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this regulation, the “2+6” program will be introduced. Under the program, young people who have at least a basic certificate in a foreign language will study for the first two months at their own expense.
For the following six months, subsidies will be provided by the state. Subsidies are granted by the State Youth Policy Support Fund under the Youth Affairs Agency.
The amount of subsidies varies depending on the location. In Tashkent city, up to two base calculation amounts per month will be provided; in regional centers and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, up to one and a half base calculation amounts; and in districts, up to one base calculation amount.
It is planned to allocate subsidies to a total of 20,000 young people in 2025–2026. Additionally, state support will be provided annually to another 20,000 participants until 2031.
If the annual limit for subsidies is exceeded, subsidy payments will be suspended until the following year. Subsidies are only granted to active educational centers that are registered on the rating platform and connected to the electronic lesson attendance monitoring system.
This procedure aims to expand opportunities for young people to learn foreign languages. Source: UzNews.uz
