The Global Gateway forum is an important international platform dedicated to supporting the European Union's external investment initiatives. This year, the forum was held in Brussels on October 9 and 10.
The main theme of the forum focused on global connectivity and infrastructure development amid geopolitical and geoeconomic changes. This initiative is an integral part of the European Union's plan to deepen global cooperation through a green economy, digital technologies, and sustainable infrastructure.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in education, culture, innovation, and information technology sectors were discussed. Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that relations with the European Union hold strategic importance for Uzbekistan.
She noted the necessity to elevate partnerships in sustainable development, women's rights, youth education, and social projects to a new level. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan during the conversation and announced support for projects aimed at developing civil society and the education sector in the country.
Saida Mirziyoyeva and Ursula von der Leyen also met at the "Central Asia — European Union" summit held in Samarkand in April this year. At that time, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev introduced his eldest daughter to European leaders.
