The Embassy of Uzbekistan operating in South Korea has registered one hundred marriages since the beginning of 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The diplomatic mission's press service provided this information. The embassy holds a leading position among Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad in the scope of consular services.
It ranks first in registering civil status documents and recording marriages. On October 10, 2025, a wedding ceremony took place at the embassy in Seoul between Elyor Nuriddinov and Nilufarkhon Nuriddinova.
This was the hundredth marriage registered during the year. The embassy provides not only diplomatic but also consular assistance.
Here, Uzbeks have the opportunity to obtain passports, certify documents, resolve citizenship matters, and register marriages. Marriages are formalized based on the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It requires that both parties meet the age criteria specified by law, have mutual consent, and are not currently married. Additionally, marriage between relatives within a certain degree of kinship is prohibited.
To formalize a marriage, citizens must apply to the embassy with an application, identity documents, medical information, and, if necessary, documents confirming the dissolution of a previous marriage. The embassy processes all documents within the established timeframe and issues a "Marriage Certificate".
According to experts, this figure is not just a number but a vivid expression of respect and reverence for family values among Uzbeks living abroad. Source: zamin.uz
