In accordance with the President's directive, a nationwide cleanliness and beautification month will begin across Uzbekistan starting from October 15. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change. During the month, cleanliness, area improvement, and ecological order will be ensured in all regions of the country, from neighborhoods and villages to city centers.
This event will see wide participation from government organizations, educational institutions, youth, and volunteers. Mass clean-up campaigns will be organized in schools, kindergartens, streets, residential areas, parks, and recreational places.
Additionally, events called “plogging” — which involve running while collecting litter — will be held with the participation of young eco-activists and volunteers. The leadership of the Ministry of Ecology, local authorities, and heads of organizations are also expected to personally take part and set an example.
During the month, special headquarters will be established in cooperation with the General Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Ecology. They will strengthen ecological control in regions, districts, and cities and provide daily information to the public.
Moreover, regular raids against environmental violations will be conducted. Currently, control is further reinforced with the help of online surveillance cameras installed in all regions.
The main goal of this initiative is to clean the environment while fostering ecological culture among the population. According to the ministry’s statement, it is an important task to make cleanliness not just a one-day event but a daily habit (source: Ministry of Ecology press service).
