Sports participation is increasing in Uzbekistan

Interest in a healthy lifestyle is increasing year by year in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee for January-August 2025, the level of physical activity among the country's population has significantly increased. In particular, the proportion of men regularly engaged in sports reached 71.9 percent.

This figure is 0.2 percent higher compared to 2024. Among women, the share of those who have a habit of engaging in sports reached 64.1 percent.

Over the past five years, these indicators have been steadily growing. For example, physical activity among men was 66 percent in 2021, rising to 71.9 percent in 2025.

Among women, it increased from 55.7 percent in 2021 to 64.1 percent in 2025. According to officials, this growth is related not only to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle but also to the establishment of new sports infrastructures in the regions.

In recent years, the number of sports grounds, fitness centers, and outdoor exercise equipment has increased in almost every district and city. This serves to strengthen public health and increase physical activity.
