Uzbek and Old Uzbek languages will begin to be taught at Oxford University. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan. According to her, the university's Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies is demonstrating respect and interest in our country's cultural heritage by including the Uzbek language in its programs.
Saida Mirziyoyeva expressed her pleasure in receiving the award presented by the university administration. This award is a high recognition of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan to protect women's rights and expand their opportunities.
During the visit, Mirziyoyeva became acquainted with Oxford's famous Bodleian Library. This library houses Mirzo Ulugbek's "Ziji Koragoni," Alisher Navoi's "Khamsa," Husayn Boyqaro's "Divan Husayniy" collection, and rare miniatures from the Timurid period.
Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that every book kept here is not only a witness to knowledge but also to history and culture. The study of Uzbek cultural heritage at such a prestigious scientific center further enhances our country's prestige on the international stage.
Thus, teaching the Uzbek language at Oxford University is an important step that serves not only to promote the language but also to introduce the nation's culture, literature, and history more broadly worldwide. This development contributes to further advancing our country's scientific and cultural potential.
