The Tashkent city administration has presented a new project aimed at improving the public transport system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this project, dedicated lanes for buses — the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system — will be introduced in the city. This system will be implemented on ten main streets of the city, with the total length of the lanes estimated at approximately 51 kilometers.
Additionally, the locations of entry and exit posts to the city will be reconsidered and their relocation is planned. These changes are intended to reduce traffic congestion, enhance traffic safety, and provide convenience for passengers.
Funding of 126 million dollars is planned for the implementation of the project. These measures aim to modernize the transport system in the capital and encourage the use of public transport.
At the same time, creating a comfortable and safe environment for passengers is considered the main goal. Source: zamin.uz.
