
The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, will make his first official visit to Uzbekistan at the end of October this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The visit will take place on October 30 and 31. This information was obtained from the press service of the Finnish leader.
On October 31, official talks will be held in Tashkent between Alexander Stubb and the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The meeting will discuss a new phase of cooperation between the two countries, trade and investment relations, as well as global geopolitical issues.
Within the framework of the visit, a business seminar, a lecture at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and meetings with experts in the field of foreign policy will be organized. These events will serve to further strengthen economic and scientific ties between the two countries.
The Finnish delegation will include Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Friendship Group with Uzbekistan, Ville Skinnari, as well as representatives of major Finnish companies. This cooperation will especially create opportunities to implement new projects in green energy, technological investments, and education.
The last visit of the President of Finland to Uzbekistan was made in 1992 by former President Mauno Koivisto. This visit, taking place after 33 years, is expected to open a new chapter in the relations between the two countries.
On the eve of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with Alexander Stubb by phone and discussed areas of cooperation in trade-economic and humanitarian fields. The presidents expressed their intention to further develop friendship and a reliable partnership.
