Birth rates in Uzbekistan remain at a high level. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On average, two babies are born every minute. According to data from the Family and Gender Scientific Research Institute, more than 926.4 thousand babies were born across the country during 2024.
These figures indicate the population growth rate, the increasing number of families, and the growing share of the younger generation. According to analyses, an average of 2,531 newborns arrive every day.
This translates to 105 newborns every hour, two every minute, and approximately one baby every 34 seconds. For comparison, in Kazakhstan this figure is 0.6 per minute, in Tajikistan 0.5, and in Kyrgyzstan 0.3.
In Turkey, three babies are born every minute; in Germany and France, 1.4 each; in China, 17; and in India, 43 babies are born every minute. Specialists from the institute emphasize that these numbers are not just statistical data.
They indicate that the family institution in the country is strengthening, the share of young people is high, and the active phase of demographic growth is ongoing. At the same time, demographic growth leads to increased demand in the labor market, education system, and social infrastructure.
Today's babies are tomorrow's young professionals, teachers, and specialists. According to demographers, Uzbekistan is currently experiencing a "demographic dividend" period.
During this period, the share of working-age young population increases, creating new opportunities for economic growth. Experts stress that the rise in the number of families ensures not only statistical growth but also social stability and the future potential of the nation.
