Photographers operating in shopping and entertainment centers in Tashkent are overstepping their bounds, causing dissatisfaction among citizens. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, at the High Town Mall shopping center, some photographers take pictures of children without parental consent and later try to forcefully sell products such as magnets or mugs featuring their photos. There are frequent cases of chasing children and approaching parents as soon as they leave the playground.
An UPL correspondent, as an experiment, bought two magnets with photos of their children for 60,000 soums each. Shortly after, another photographer came and said they had ordered children's mugs, demanding 100,000 soums for each.
Such incidents are leaving a negative impression not only among local residents but also tourists. For this reason, a legal document is being developed in Uzbekistan that will require obtaining a special permit to photograph individuals and children.
In the future, legal measures are expected to be taken against such cases (source: UPL).
