In order to reduce traffic congestion in the city of Tashkent, a new restriction on truck movement has been introduced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, trucks arriving in the capital during the morning and evening peak hours will not be allowed to enter the city immediately. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpo‘latov on the program “Menimcha”.
According to him, this decision was made to ease traffic in the city center and improve the ecological situation. Five special parking lots are planned to be built at the entry points to Tashkent for trucks.
These locations will be situated near the “Erkin”, “Sharq”, “Bektemir”, “Uch qahramon”, and “Turbanov” posts. Additionally, bus stations and campgrounds will be organized there.
Land areas of 7.7 hectares, 4.25 hectares, and 8 hectares are planned to be allocated for some of these facilities. It has been recorded that up to 40-50 thousand vehicles pass through the “Erkin” post daily, which is considered the busiest point.
Therefore, control and order will be strengthened in this area. According to the new system, if a truck arrives from Samarkand to Tashkent around 8:00 in the morning, it will wait for three hours at the designated parking lot located there.
Only after the specified time has passed will it be allowed to enter the city. Aziz Toshpo‘latov emphasized that these measures will restrict traffic during the morning and evening peak hours, while minibuses and light vehicles will be able to move freely at other times.
The main goal of this initiative is to reduce road load in the capital, increase traffic safety, and create a comfortable transport environment for citizens. Source: zamin.uz
