Access routes to Samarkand will be closed for UNESCO

Due to the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, access roads to the city of Samarkand will be temporarily closed from October 30 to November 14, 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued an official statement regarding this. This restriction is being implemented to ensure the security of the large-scale international event and to maintain order.

Alternative routes for transit vehicles have been developed, and drivers will be provided with QR-coded flyers indicating these routes. The internal affairs authorities have urged citizens and tourists to postpone their trips to Samarkand as much as possible.

Additionally, the UNESCO General Conference is being held outside Paris for the first time since 1985, and this historic event is being hosted by Uzbekistan for the first time. This information was provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
