On October 21, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Uzbek language being granted the status of state language, the pages of the president's press service and its secretary were completely converted to the Latin alphabet. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Previously, the press service used two alphabets — Cyrillic and Latin, but on some platforms the Cyrillic alphabet prevailed. For example, the president's Telegram page was mainly maintained in Cyrillic script.
Now, all official pages and messages are presented only in Latin script. Initially, the president's press secretary published information about the head of state's visit to the IT Park in Tashkent on his page in the Latin alphabet.
Since then, similar information has been regularly posted on Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official pages. In addition, while the press service's official emblem previously used a wenzel, now graphic elements such as an eight-pointed star and the image of the Humo bird against the background of the national flag are consistently used.
This change is considered an important step aimed at forming a unified and modern style in official information sources. Source: zamin.uz.
