As cases of phone fraud are increasing in Uzbekistan, a new technology has been introduced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, an anti-spoofing system has been launched. This system serves to verify the authenticity of phone calls.
If an international call is displayed as a local number, the system detects it in real time and automatically blocks it. This is an effective solution against methods that fraudsters have been using for many years.
According to Beeline company’s data, fraudsters often call from abroad trying to present themselves as local subscribers. For example, they appear to be calling from a landline number or under the name of one of Uzbekistan’s mobile operators.
The anti-spoofing system detects such mismatches and blocks the call. The system checks which network the SIM card is registered on and if the number appears local but the call is made through a foreign network, it blocks it.
Mobiuz company announced that it implemented this technology in September 2025. Within one month, the anti-spoofing system blocked thousands of suspicious calls, protecting subscribers from fraud.
This service is activated automatically and free of charge, requiring no additional action from the user. The new system not only ensures the safety of subscribers but also strengthens trust in the digital environment.
According to experts, this project is an important step in enhancing digital security and is expected to be fully implemented across all communication operators in the future. Thus, anti-spoofing technology is expected to become an effective tool against phone fraud.
