
At the headquarters of the European Council in Brussels, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union were discussed. Within the framework of implementing the agreements reached at the first "Central Asia–European Union" summit held in Samarkand in April of this year, the parties considered new opportunities for cooperation.
It was emphasized that the signed "Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement" is of historic importance. This agreement will make a significant contribution to the development of cooperation in trade, investments, transport, energy, climate change, high technologies, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields.
Additionally, the parties positively assessed the negotiations conducted with the European Union regarding Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization. During the meeting, it was agreed to implement new projects worth over 10 billion euros in the fields of energy, chemistry, critical minerals, logistics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.
