Uzbekistan has officially completed bilateral negotiations with the European Union as part of the process of joining the World Trade Organization. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by Azizbek Urunov, the President’s special representative for the World Trade Organization, on his social media page. According to Urunov, negotiations on market access conditions with the 27 EU member states, including export and import duties as well as services sector discussions, have been successfully concluded.
With this, Uzbekistan has become the 31st country to complete bilateral negotiations with the European Union. An agreement was also signed with Panama a week ago.
Currently, negotiations have been completed with a total of 31 countries, while the process continues with three countries. Additionally, in September, Uzbekistan signed market access protocols with Argentina, Australia, and Honduras.
Thus, Uzbekistan is steadily implementing important steps on the path to full membership in the World Trade Organization (source: zamin.uz).
