A new program has been developed in Uzbekistan to reduce wastefulness at weddings and other celebrations, and to shape culture based on normative and national values. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This initiative was announced by the Republic Spirituality and Enlightenment Center in cooperation with a number of organizations. At a roundtable discussion attended by representatives of state and public organizations, a 90-day action plan was approved to widely promote the "culture of moderation".
Within the framework of this plan, the population is advised to refrain from wastefulness and excessive extravagance, raise social awareness, and hold events in a compact and sincere manner. The program is implemented with the participation of the Spirituality Center, the Association of Mahallas, the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Committee on Family and Women, and the "Nuroni" Foundation.
According to the program, promotional events, seminars, open discussions, and meetings with youth will be organized. In addition, through the "Kinokarvon" media project, films and videos against wastefulness will be produced to instill healthy views in the minds of young people.
This initiative serves to preserve national values, hold weddings and celebrations in a low-cost and sincere manner, and strengthen a healthy environment in society by reducing financial pressures (source: zamin.uz).
