Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Sergio Gore, the United States President's Special Representative for South and Central Asia, in Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The meeting was also attended by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and other officials. During the conversation, issues of deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding cooperation in new areas were discussed.
They exchanged views on the implementation of agreements reached at the high-level meeting held in New York City on September 23 of this year. Sergio Gore conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of US President Donald Trump to the President of Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction the steady development of political dialogue, economic cooperation, and business relations between the two countries. In particular, the visit of the US Chamber of Commerce delegation held in Tashkent at the beginning of October was emphasized as having laid the groundwork for new projects between the business communities of the two countries.
During the meeting, the urgency of implementing projects in the fields of industry, finance, critical minerals, energy, digital economy, and agriculture within the framework of the "roadmap" was raised. The parties noted that this cooperation should serve not only economic benefits but also strengthen regional stability and security.
Additionally, agreements were reached on enhancing cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, limiting illegal migration, and ensuring information security. Mirziyoyev and the US delegation representatives exchanged views on issues of global and regional significance.
Preparations for the upcoming "S5+1" format summit planned to be held in Washington were also discussed during the meeting. This summit is expected to bring the dialogue between Central Asian countries and the US to a new level.
The parties agreed to continue active contacts, develop new joint projects, and enrich the strategic partnership with practical results. Thus, President Mirziyoyev's meeting with the US delegation marked an important stage in bilateral relations, further strengthening Uzbekistan's policy of open diplomacy, economic cooperation, and regional stability, and opening new directions.
