
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Sergio Gore, the US President's Special Representative for South and Central Asia, the Presidential Press Service reported. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The meeting was also attended by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and other officials. During the conversation, issues of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and implementing the high-level agreements signed in New York on September 23 were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gore conveyed Donald Trump's sincere greetings and wishes to President Mirziyoyev. At the end of the conversation, he presented a number of gifts on behalf of Trump, including a personal cap.
The parties emphasized the need to expand cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, digitalization, agriculture, and finance. Additionally, issues of security, counter-terrorism, migration, and regional stability were also considered.
The preparation for the upcoming S5+1 summit to be held in Washington next week was also discussed. For reference, Sergio Gore is a politician born in Tashkent and is one of Donald Trump's close allies.
He previously served as the Director of the White House Personnel Office and was nominated by Trump in 2025 for the position of ambassador to India. Currently, he serves as the US Special Representative for South and Central Asia (source: Presidential Press Service).
