
During the visit of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, meetings were held in Washington with several representatives of the US Congress. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the President's press service, the head of state held negotiations with congressmen Bill Huizenga, Carol Miller, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove. During the meeting, issues of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly the development of inter-parliamentary relations, were discussed.
Additionally, the positive development of active contacts between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and the United States was noted. The parties especially emphasized the effective work of the Uzbekistan Cooperation Caucus in the US Congress.
The meeting also focused on expanding cooperation with the states of West Virginia, Michigan, and California. At the end of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize visits of US Congress representatives to Uzbekistan, as well as to exchange business delegations led by regional leaders.
Furthermore, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Senator Steve Daines from the state of Montana. The discussion covered issues related to expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
It was reported that business delegations from the United States to Uzbekistan are planned in the future. Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the "S5+1" summit, which will be held in Washington on November 6.
This summit is expected to discuss investment and economic issues.
