The state social insurance system in Uzbekistan is being gradually reformed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was provided by the Ministry of Justice. According to the decree signed by the President on November 3, 2023, starting from January 1, 2026, allowances for pregnancy, childbirth, and child birth will be assigned and paid automatically without citizens having to submit an application.
Additionally, from July 1, 2026, allowances for temporary disability will also be calculated automatically. This process will be carried out based on the disability certificate issued to citizens.
According to the new system, citizens can join this system through a portion of their income tax or voluntarily by paying insurance premiums monthly. The amount of the allowance paid will be determined depending on the insurance period and the amount of premiums paid.
The State Social Insurance Fund is responsible for financing the allowances. Starting from 2030, this fund will also consider and pay unemployment benefits.
Such payments will be made based on citizens' applications. These reforms are aimed at creating convenience for citizens, reducing paperwork, and increasing the transparency of the social protection system.
This will also improve the efficiency of service delivery. Source of information: One.uz.
