Maternal mortality in Uzbekistan decreased by 25%
By the beginning of November 2025, maternal mortality cases in Uzbekistan decreased by 25 percent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health, Elmira Basitkhonova. This positive result was recorded within the framework of the "Healthy Start of Life — Guarantee of a Prosperous Future" program implemented by the World Health Organization.

According to experts, by the end of the year, this indicator may reach 30 percent. Basitkhonova emphasized that several factors contributed to the reduction in maternal mortality.

In particular, early detection of diseases among mothers was established, and extensive campaigns promoting a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy were conducted. As a result of this approach, significant positive changes are observed in the healthcare system.

Experts plan to continue work in this area. Measures taken to improve the health of mothers and children are of great importance in forming a healthy generation in the country.

Such programs are expected to continue in the future. Source of information: zamin.uz.
