In the first three quarters of 2025, electric car imports to Uzbekistan increased significantly. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased 2.5 times, with a total of 40.3 thousand electric vehicles brought into the country. The total value of imported electric cars amounted to 473 million US dollars, and they were delivered from 16 countries worldwide.
In particular, the People's Republic of China stands out as the main supplier. From this country, 39.8 thousand electric vehicles were imported.
Additionally, 249 electric cars were imported from Hong Kong, 165 from South Korea, 43 from Germany, and 25 from the United States. The remaining 65 electric vehicles were brought from other countries.
This growth in electric car imports is observed against the backdrop of a general decline in demand for passenger cars in the country. Specifically, in September of this year, 84.6 thousand cars were sold, which is 6.4 percent less compared to August.
For reference, the first electric car was created in 1884 by British inventor Thomas Parker. He accomplished this using powerful batteries he developed himself.
