
A new system is planned to be introduced in Uzbekistan to strengthen the fight against drug addiction. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, citizens who report illegal circulation of narcotic substances or help identify such cases will be rewarded with a special prize. This was reported by government sources.
According to the presidential decree, the procedure for encouraging citizens will be developed by the Agency for Control of Narcotics and Firearms and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. This initiative aims to increase public participation in the fight against drug addiction.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will organize special training for prevention inspectors to identify illegal drug laboratories and packaging workshops by the end of 2025. Employees who perform effectively in this area will be rewarded from off-budget funds.
By March 1, 2026, it is planned to purchase modern equipment for rapid detection of narcotic substances for internal affairs bodies. In addition, measures against the circulation of psychotropic and potent substances will be further strengthened.
Separate strict liability measures are expected to be established for crimes involving youth. These measures are aimed not only at strengthening the fight against crime but also at ensuring the conscious participation of citizens in society.
