A new decision aimed at improving working conditions for medical workers has been adopted in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It was announced by official sources. According to this decision, starting from April 1, 2026, a five-day workweek will be introduced in state medical institutions.
Continuous service shifts will be organized on rest and holiday days. This change is being implemented to reduce doctors' workload and increase their labor efficiency.
Additionally, medical workers will be incentivized annually on the occasion of "Medical Workers' Day." Competitions will be held to identify the best doctors and clinics, with winners receiving cash prizes and opportunities for advanced training abroad.
From January 1, 2026, the state will cover 30 percent of contract fees at higher education institutions for children of medical and pharmaceutical workers with 15 years of work experience. Furthermore, every year, 500 doctors will receive assistance covering 25 percent of the initial payment for purchasing housing through a mortgage.
The decision also establishes other benefits for medical workers. They will have the right to use high-tech medical services free of charge once a year, receive sanatorium vouchers, have expenses for publishing scientific articles covered, and enjoy a 50 percent reduction in fees for government services.
This decision aims to enhance the prestige of the medical field, retain qualified specialists, and attract young people to this profession.
