
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has approved additional measures aimed at supporting and encouraging medical workers and pharmacists. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this decision, starting from January 1 and April 1, 2026, a number of new benefits and additional payments will be introduced. Within the framework of these measures, a 10 percent additional allowance will be set for doctors' salaries, 25 percent of mortgage loans will be covered by the state, expenses for employees' children's education will be reimbursed, and rewards of up to 30 million soms will be allocated.
In addition, the costs of publishing scientific articles will be covered by the state, free medical treatment and sanatorium services will be provided to doctors. A five-day workweek is guaranteed for employees working in state medical institutions.
On the occasion of Medical Workers' Day, a competition will be held among the best doctors, hospital, and polyclinic heads. Winners will be awarded valuable prizes.
Furthermore, the state will cover the expenses for publishing doctors' articles in internationally highly rated scientific journals. From April 1, 2026, all state medical institutions will switch to a five-day workweek.
However, the duty schedule during weekends and holidays will be maintained. An additional 100 billion soms will be allocated annually from the state budget for this program.
The implementation of the program will be supervised by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Tohir Aliyev.
