
The number of citizens engaged in the field of handicrafts in Uzbekistan has significantly increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, as of October 1, 2025, a total of 22,100 artisans have been registered across the country. This figure indicates the growing interest of our people in national crafts and the high importance of manual labor in the domestic market.
By region, the highest number of artisans is recorded in Tashkent city, with 2,964 individuals. Following are Fergana region (2,743), Samarkand region (2,179), and Andijan region (2,058).
Additionally, handicraft activities are developing in Namangan (2,024), Khorezm (1,982), Tashkent region (1,731), and Bukhara (1,434). In Kashkadarya region, 1,427 artisans are registered, in Karakalpakstan 981, and in Jizzakh 923.
In Surkhandarya region, 786 artisans are active, in Syrdarya region 449, and in Navoi region 419 artisans are operating. Overall, it can be said that handicrafts are rapidly developing not only as a traditional value but also as an economic opportunity.
