
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Joint Statement at the conclusion of negotiations held at the Koksaroy residence. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the negotiations, a number of documents aimed at strengthening bilateral relations were exchanged. Among the signed documents are the agreement on the operation of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan border trade zone, the cooperation agreement in the field of healthcare and medical science, the agreement on agricultural development, the memorandum on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on the prevention and elimination of emergencies, as well as documents on amendments to the agreement on passenger and cargo transportation in international road transport.
Additionally, programs and memorandums aimed at developing cooperation in areas such as culture, justice, forestry, and biological safety were adopted. To strengthen interregional ties, the administrations of Surxondaryo, Qashqadaryo, Tashkent regions, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan signed agreements with various provinces of Turkmenistan to develop trade-economic, scientific-technical, and cultural relations.
These documents establish a solid legal foundation for increasing trade turnover between the two states, effectively utilizing transport and logistics capabilities, as well as developing humanitarian and scientific cooperation.
