Illegal gold trade uncovered in Qashqadaryo

An illegal gold trade case was uncovered in Qashqadaryo region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During an urgent operation conducted by the regional department of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in Kattaqo‘rg‘on district of Samarkand region, individuals engaged in illegal gold trading were apprehended. It was revealed that three citizens born in 1982, 1984, and 1996, residing in Navoi and Samarkand regions, agreed to sell two pieces of gold bars weighing a total of 475 grams and were caught with material evidence while receiving 500 million soums in advance from the buyer.
According to the conclusion provided by the State Purity Level Control Inspection, the gold bars, which have a purity level of 994, have a net weight of 472 grams, and their total value was determined to be 740.4 million soums. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 177, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
It has been reported that two of these individuals have previous convictions, with one currently serving a sentence of correctional labor.
