
The Hydrometeorology Service Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet) has announced the initial weather forecast for the 2023-2024 winter season across the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to it, some changes in air temperature and precipitation amounts are expected in the upcoming winter season. In December, the temperature will be slightly higher than usual.
The average temperature is forecasted to be 1–1.5 degrees above normal. At the beginning of the month, the weather will be warm, with nighttime temperatures around 0...+5 degrees and daytime temperatures around +10...+15 degrees.
By the end of the month, the temperature may change sharply: nighttime temperatures may drop from +2...+7 degrees to 0...–5 degrees, and daytime temperatures may fall from +12...+17 degrees to +2...+7 degrees. Precipitation amounts are expected to be close to or slightly below normal.
Although January temperatures will be close to long-term averages, some regions may experience colder conditions. Temperatures will vary significantly throughout the month.
At the beginning of the month, nighttime temperatures will be around +3...+8 degrees and daytime temperatures around +10...+15 degrees, but by the end, nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to –12...–17 degrees and daytime temperatures to –5...–10 degrees. In Nukus and Urgench, cold temperatures may reach –20...–25 degrees.
In February, the winter cold will continue. At the beginning of the month, nighttime temperatures are expected to be around –5...–10 degrees, and daytime temperatures around –3...+2 degrees.
By the end of the month, the weather will warm up, with nighttime temperatures rising to +3...+8 degrees and daytime temperatures reaching +10...+15 degrees. In southern regions, daytime temperatures may reach up to +20 degrees.
