A number of innovations and conveniences are being introduced to develop the tourism sector in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to a government decision, internationally renowned clothing brands will be attracted to large shopping and entertainment centers in the country. In addition, modern outlet complexes reflecting the national architectural style are planned to be constructed.
These projects will initially be implemented in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, and will gradually expand to other tourist areas. Starting from February 1, 2026, foreign tourists leaving Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to receive a cash refund of the value-added tax paid on goods purchased within the country.
This decision aims to make traveling to our country more convenient and attractive for foreign guests. Also, from March 1, 2026, a new system will be introduced to support startups in the tourism sector.
Up to 50 percent of the costs for creating and implementing service types, up to 1 billion soums per year, will be subsidized. These measures are aimed at encouraging private initiatives and supporting innovative ideas.
Furthermore, the state will cover up to half of the expenses of hotels striving to obtain international ecological “green” certificates. This is intended to promote environmentally sustainable tourism and improve the quality of services.
As a result of these measures, broad opportunities are being created in our country to support innovative ideas in the tourism sector and develop modern infrastructure (source: zamin.uz).
