Air quality in major cities of Uzbekistan is unlikely to improve in the coming days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to data from "O‘zgidromet," due to the ongoing inversion process, the level of air pollution is not expected to change until the end of November. Experts emphasize that the main causes of air problems are temperature inversion, lack of precipitation, and drought.
As a result of the lack of mixing of air layers, harmful fine particles such as PM2.5 are accumulating in the atmosphere. For example, on November 23, the PM2.5 level in Tashkent was recorded to be three times higher than the established norm.
Officials stated that this situation is seasonal and air quality can only improve after strong winds, air mass exchange, or precipitation. At the same time, it was noted that air quality can change in a short time and sometimes reach hazardous levels.
The public is advised to take precautionary measures. In particular, try to stay outdoors as little as possible, limit outdoor activities, and do not forget to wear a mask when going outside.
