
Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Baxtiyor Saidov received the credentials of Ali Muhammad, the first ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The minister shared this information on his Telegram channel. According to Baxtiyor Saidov, the parties expressed their commitment to developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Somalia.
The Federal Republic of Somalia officially recognized Uzbekistan's independence on February 17, 2004. Diplomatic relations between Mogadishu and Tashkent were established in February 2023.
This agreement was implemented through the signing of a declaration by representatives of the two countries in New York City. The population of Somalia is projected to reach 19.2 million by 2025.
The country's GDP per capita is expected to amount to 1,900 US dollars. It is known that in the 1990s, a series of military conflicts occurred in the territory of Somalia.
