Legislation on electronic cigarettes in Uzbekistan has been significantly tightened. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the new law adopted on November 27, 2025, the production, storage, transportation, or sale of electronic cigarettes is now considered a violation and will lead to serious liability. According to the amendments introduced to the law, if the production or import of banned tobacco products and nicotine-delivering electronic devices is carried out in large quantities within the country, the following penalties will be imposed: a fine ranging from 123.6 million to 206 million soms, 2-3 years of corrective labor, restriction of freedom for 3-5 years, or imprisonment for 3-5 years.
At the same time, the law includes a provision stating that if a person voluntarily surrenders banned products and admits guilt, they will be exempt from liability. This norm is aimed at ensuring legality and reducing illegal activities.
In addition, amendments have been made to the “Law on Restriction of Alcohol and Tobacco Products,” completely banning the circulation of electronic cigarettes and their liquids in the country. The main purpose of the new regulation is to protect the health of young people and limit the spread of nicotine products.
This, in turn, serves to promote a healthy lifestyle. Source: Zamin.uz
