On December 2, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited Jizzakh region and reviewed the construction process of the nuclear power plant (NPP) there. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the construction site, excavation work is underway for two small-capacity reactors and two large reactors. A construction base has been established, and a temporary residential town is being built for the workers.
At the same time, work continues on supplying the necessary materials for the NPP domestically and training specialists. In the future, a separate mono-city designed for 10,000 residents is planned to be built for the NPP staff.
Additionally, the President commissioned a new overpass and a four-kilometer road. Thanks to the new road, the distance to Jizzakh has been reduced from 25 kilometers to 4 kilometers.
More than 14,000 vehicles can use this road daily, which will significantly ease traffic flow. The overpass, built using modern technologies, is designed to last 100 years.
It ensures that vehicles can move continuously even during train passages. During the visit, the President was also presented with projects for the city's renewal.
Within these projects, plans include reconstructing old residential buildings, constructing new houses, establishing an IT center and a handicraft center, as well as landscaping the central streets.
