
Erkinjon Turdimov has been appointed as the governor of Sirdaryo region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced this. This appointment was proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the extraordinary session of the Sirdaryo regional council of people's deputies.
The new governor has been assigned important tasks to develop the region's economy. In particular, it is planned to attract investments amounting to 3 billion dollars next year, increase export volume to 500 million dollars, and create 185 thousand new jobs.
During his career, Erkinjon Turdimov has managed several regions. Until 2016, he served as the governor of Navoi region.
After that, from 2016 to 2018, he was the governor of Surkhandarya region. From 2018 to 2024, he managed Samarkand region, contributing to the socio-economic development of the area.
