
Strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary is entering a new phase. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Important agreements were reached at a meeting attended by Tibor Navracsics, Hungary's Minister of State for Public Administration and Territorial Development. The main part of these agreements concerns the pilot implementation of Hungary's “Smart Village” concept in the Xovos district of Sirdaryo region.
This project aims to create modern infrastructure, digital services, and a favorable business environment. The meeting was also attended by Erkin Turdimov, the governor of Sirdaryo region, and Ulugbek Husainov, acting head of the Agency for Management Efficiency under the President.
The parties emphasized that the friendly and trust-based relations between the two countries are reaching a new level. This cooperation is expanding not only in political but also in economic and innovative sectors.
During the dialogue, topics such as the introduction of modern methods in public administration, digitalization, and strengthening executive discipline were discussed. It is planned to establish the Uzbekistan-Hungary technopark on an area of 50 hectares in Xovos district, hold a business forum with the participation of entrepreneurs in Budapest, and open a faculty of fisheries at Gulistan State University.
In addition, a number of joint programs will be implemented in the field of innovative management. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Agency for Management Efficiency and the Hungarian Ministry of State for Public Administration and Territorial Development.
The memorandum includes public civil service, personnel training, sustainable regional development, and the introduction of innovative management solutions. Through this cooperation, it is planned to create a modern, technological, and sustainable development model in Xovos.
These initiatives will serve to further strengthen relations between the countries.
